What can the camera capture and express differently than a performance on stage? How does the camera influence the creation of movement material? Which new doors does the cinema open, especially in dance and educational work with young people and non-professional dancers?
For three years now, dance educator Christin Schmidt and video artist Carola Schmidt have been exploring the possibilities of dance and video art while working with young people. In their workshop, they will provide insights into their work and methods and examine individual approaches both theoretically and practically, such as working with scores and spontaneity, improvisation and intimacy, space and the site-specific, and choreographic material and its translation for the camera.
Participants from the field of video art are invited to bring their own cameras and equipment.
